Cakes by Simone is a Redland Bay cake maker run by Simone, a qualified chef who owned and ran cafés in Brisbane before turning to cakes. Cake decorating has been her craft for roughly 18 years, and each design is made to order. Weddings are her main focus, with cakes finished in fresh or sugar flowers and priced the same as any other celebration cake. Chocolate and white chocolate mud cakes covered in ganache are a specialty, decorated with chocolate shards, fondant or vanilla buttercream. Birthday cakes are the other big part of the work, from first-birthday numbers and character cakes for children to 21st and 50th designs. Christenings and other celebrations are catered for too, and cupcakes come in a range of flavours. Everything is made from scratch without packet mixes. Cupcake stands and silver cake stands can be hired, and lolly buffets can be put together to match your theme and budget.
