Learning to mix with spirits made a few metres away is the point of difference at South Coast Distillery. Tucked into Unit 8/2 Drummond St, Mount Saint Thomas, on the escarpment slopes above the city centre, the small craft distillery runs a cocktail class that lasts an hour and a half and keeps numbers small.
How the class runs:
Classes are booked online and usually scheduled for Saturday afternoons. A group too big for a regular class can ask for a private one, held on a Friday and organised by email with the events team.
It runs for 90 minutes. You start with a drink and nibbles, then make three signature cocktails and learn the basics of building your own.
Up to 12 on a regular class. Larger groups can arrange a private class through the events team.
Regular dates usually fall on Saturday afternoons and are booked online. Private sessions can be set up on Fridays by emailing the events team.
Yes. The distillery bar can be hired for birthdays, hens and work events with no room fee, just a minimum spend over the bar. You bring the food, since functions are self-catered.
