Party rooms and a raised deck over the lanes give birthday groups somewhere to gather for food and cake.

Getting Paintball and Laser Tag Right

Laser tag, not paintball, is what Albion Park offers, played in a 24-vest arena fitted with glowing obstacles. The arena sits behind the lanes at Timezone & Zone Bowling Illawarra, a standalone centre on the Princes Highway that also has 24 bowling lanes, seven bumper cars and more than 70 arcade games. Rules and timings for the arena:

Game length: about 20 minutes, briefing included
Minimum age: players need to be at least six years old
Minimum height: 110cm
Kit: the arena runs with 24 vests
Setting: fully indoors, out the back of the bowling centre

Parking out the front is free and accessible, and the nearest bus stop is on the Princes Highway opposite Rosewood Street.

Kids' birthday parties need at least 10 guests and last about two and a half hours, with a party host on hand.
Two party rooms and a 60-seat party area with a raised deck give the group somewhere to regroup between games.
Pair a laser tag round with bowling, where up to six players share each lane.
Younger siblings can ride the bumper cars, where riders must be four or older and at least 112cm tall.

Grown-up groups and work teams

Group event packages start at 15 people and generally last two to two and a half hours.
The bowling and café counter has a fully licensed bar for after the last game.
Half the cost is paid upfront, as a 50% deposit holds the booking.
End-of-year parties and work functions are hosted in the party rooms and the raised party area.
