School Formal Venues in Vaucluse

Choosing the Right School Formal Venue

Among the events Diamond Bay Bowling Club has hosted are school formals, held in its function hall on Old South Head Road, Vaucluse. The main room can be set with tables and a dance floor for 180, or opened up as a dance party for up to 450, which covers most year groups.

For a formal committee the club keeps things simple: an air-conditioned clubhouse, bar and floor staff with the room hire, and on-site parking for drop-offs.

Points a formal committee can plan around:

Seated dinner and dancing: 180 guests at tables with the dance floor set up
A larger cohort mingling: up to 450 in dance party mode, or 80 to 400 for a canapé or buffet crowd
Group photos before dinner: the covered verandah and pergola come with the main room
Students with dietary needs: vegetarian, vegan and kosher options from the in-house chef
Catering on a set budget: deluxe canapés from $28 per person, or a menu built around your figure

Whether dinner is a buffet or plated, the hall keeps plenty of the night for dancing, and the menu can be pitched at what the school has budgeted per student.

Photos can happen on the verandah and pergola, which are part of main room hire
Dinner can be a buffet, a roast or a sit-down meal at the tables
The dance floor stays in place once tables are set for 180
Bar and floor staff come with main room hire, which leaves teachers free to supervise
