Birthday Party Venues in Longueville

Choosing the Right Birthday Party Venue

Locals call Longueville Sporting Club The Diddy, and its indoor function room, The Hall @ The Diddy, is a relaxed spot for a lower north shore birthday. The club dates back to 1938 on Longueville Road and now runs a beer garden, bistro and weekend live music on its old bowling greens.

The Hall sits inside the clubhouse, heated for cooler months, and bar staff serve it directly through a shuttered opening, so nobody has to leave the party for a drink.

What the room offers a birthday:

Size: 80 for a cocktail party, 65 seated or 70 theatre style
Speeches and slideshows: a projector with a drop-down screen, TV screens, a microphone and speakers are included
Food: Lusso Kitchen's grazing board with pizzas starts from $35 per person for at least 25 guests
The cake: cakes and sweets come in free of charge, though other outside food isn't allowed
Setting up: the team arranges the room to your chosen layout as part of the booking

There's no minimum spend, and a bar tab can be opened on the day using a name, tab number or wristbands.

Menus mix pub classics with Italian and Thai dishes
Platters of small bites and a sporting-style finger food spread suit a standing party
Classic or premium buffets are served only in The Hall, for 40 or more
Food is ordered at least seven days ahead, or guests can order their own on the day

Decorating and running the day

Decorations are welcome, but confetti and glitter are not
The room is weatherproof, so an outdoor-loving group has a fallback
The club's greens are used for social activities, a draw for a daytime party
Longueville Road puts the club on the lower north shore, handy for local family birthdays
