Tempering machines, long marble benches and trays of truffles waiting to be piped: Melt & Make's studio at Unit 7, 360 Kingsway in Caringbah is a purpose-built space for chocolate making, run by a team of chocolate makers.

Its custom workshop is the one for a group occasion. The team shapes it around who's coming, from a relaxed, social session for a baby shower to more detailed technique for keen cooks.

What a custom workshop can cover:

Tempering milk or dark chocolate
Piping and decorating truffles
Dipping strawberries and making caramel clusters
Moulding a chocolate bar finished with toppings
Colouring and moulded bonbons for more confident hands

Everything the group makes is packaged to take home, and materials and aprons are supplied. Prices are from $90 per person, and the room takes 10 to 30.
