Choosing a Tasting Experience

Church Street in Wickham hides a working winery. At number 28, Inner City Winemakers takes in grapes from New England, Mudgee, Orange and the Hilltops and turns them into wine on site, and the same team that makes it pours the tastings – down to designing the labels.

Here's how a Wickham tasting runs:

  • Everyone is seated, with a member of the winemaking team hosting
  • Sparkling comes first, followed by whites and reds, finishing on aged fortifieds
  • Questions are welcome at every glass, from crushing to blending
  • Add a shared cheese platter by noting it when you book
  • Pay From $15 per person, for up to eight guests

Tastings run Thursday to Saturday between 10am and 4pm, and Sunday visits can be arranged. Last-minute visits can be organised by phoning the cellar door.
