Clear allExposed brick, black steel beams and a bar pouring spirits distilled on the premises set the scene for a Carrington wedding reception at The Barrel Hall @ Earp Distilling Co. The hall sits at the rear of the family-run distillery at 41 Darling St, separate from its bar and restaurant.
For couples the guest list decides the layout: 200 at a seated banquet, 150 in cabaret style, or up to 300 for a cocktail reception. The family behind the distillery has Newcastle roots going back to 1883, a detail worth a line in the speeches.
How the Barrel Hall handles a reception:
Drinks can run as a bar tab, pay as you go or a three- to five-hour package, and the whole venue can be taken over for a very large wedding.

Up to 200 at a seated banquet, 150 in cabaret style or 300 for a standing cocktail reception. The hall takes groups from 30 guests.
The annex at one end of the hall can hold a dance floor, a stage or a breakout area, and room hire includes a PA system and a stage.
Roaming canapés start from $65 per person. For a seated reception there are banquet menus of mains and sides, or two- and three-course dinners, with a grazing table or oyster bar as extras.
The Barrel Hall is set apart from the distillery bar and restaurant, and the whole venue can be taken over for very large events. Smaller groups in the hall may share it, so ask the team early.
