How Bucks Party Venues Actually Work

For a bucks party that wants a laugh before the dancing, Witches in Britches on Dudley Street packs a meal, a live comedy musical and a late disco into one booking.

It suits a groom who'd rather sit down to dinner with his mates than start the night in a queue.

Why it works for a bucks crew:

  • Everything in one place: three courses, a two-hour show and a DJ until 1am, with no venue changes.
  • Audience play: the cast drags guests into the act, and the groom is an obvious target.
  • Add-ons: a dedicated bucks package can be added to the standard ticket.
  • Timing: arrive around 7pm, with the show running from about 8:30pm to 10:30pm.
  • Spend: From $99 per person for dinner and the show, before drinks.

Performances happen on Friday and Saturday evenings only, which shapes which weekend the crew can pick.

Setting up the groom

  • Send a photo of the groom when booking so it can go up on the theatre projector.
  • Costumes are welcome, which opens the door to a themed outfit for the groom.
  • The show's adult humour suits a crew that enjoys a bit of ribbing.
  • Ask for the bucks add-on at enquiry so it is built into the quote.

Drinks and the end of the night

  • Choose between a drinks package and paying as you go at the bar.
  • The dungeon disco keeps going after the show, so the crew can stay put rather than move on.
  • The entry is a spooky walk underground before the bar and theatre.
  • For a larger group, exclusive venue hire is available, though it is pitched mainly at corporate bookings.
