School Formal Venues in Sunshine

Choosing the Right School Formal Venue

On Somerville Road in Sunshine West, Sheldon Reception lists school formals among the events it runs, and its two ballrooms cover most year-group sizes. A smaller cohort fits the Delphinium Room, while a combined year level can fill the Bliss Ballroom.

What a formal at Sheldon can look like:

Smaller year groups: the Delphinium Room takes 70 to 240, with chandeliers, a mirrored wall and its own staircase.
Bigger cohorts: the Bliss Ballroom takes 220 to 600, with tiered seating around a polished dance floor.
Grand arrivals: students can come in by the enclosed glass lift or down a sweeping staircase in the Bliss Ballroom.
Dinner: canapés, buffets or a three-course sit-down menu from the in-house kitchen.
Timing: a formal gets five and a half hours, and the music winds up at midnight.

With on-site parking and a dedicated event manager for each booking, teachers and the formal committee have one contact for the night's running order.

Every table in the Bliss Ballroom has a view of the dance floor thanks to the tiered perimeter seating.
The Delphinium Room is air-conditioned and has an elevated top table.
Shaynna Blaze designed the interiors.
A venue-hire package lets the school bring its own caterers and stylists.

When the night arrives

Parents dropping off and collecting can use the on-site parking.
The event manager is the single point of contact for teachers supervising the night.
Dinner can be a buffet for a relaxed formal or three courses for a more formal one.
Music finishes by midnight, which sets a clear end time for pick-ups.
