About Raes on Wategos
Raes on Wategos is a small luxury hotel on Marine Parade, right on Wategos Beach below the Cape Byron headland. The white Mediterranean-style hotel has two penthouses and five suites around a pool and tropical gardens, with a second guesthouse property a short walk along the street. The hotel's restaurant, Raes Dining Room, looks straight out over the beach and seats up to 50 for a private event. Below it, the Cellar Bar sits on a beachside terrace under large umbrellas and takes 30 seated or 40 standing. For a wedding or a big celebration, the whole hotel can be booked exclusively over a minimum two-night stay. Arrival evening can include a welcome event in the Cellar Bar, the main day closes the hotel, Dining Room and Cellar Bar for your group, and a third night allows a recovery event. Exclusive use suits 50 seated or 75 standing. Without a stay, the Dining Room or the Cellar Bar can be booked exclusively for a lunchtime event from midday to 4pm. The penthouses can also host small approved gatherings of up to 15 between 2pm and 6pm. Companies can take over the guesthouses for a corporate retreat, with the kitchen designing a dining program and events across the Dining Room, Cellar Bar and the guesthouse Terrace Bar. Product launches and brand shoots are also welcome. Events finish at 10pm, music must be approved by the events team, and PA gear for speeches is hired in. Private functions are not taken in December or January. Send an enquiry to start planning.
