About XXXX Alehouse & Brewery Tours

XXXX Alehouse & Brewery Tours is the bar, restaurant and tour base inside the working XXXX brewery on Paten Street in Milton, where the beer has been made for more than 145 years. A guide walks groups through the history of the site, explains how each beer is brewed and shows the proper way to pour a XXXX. Allow around 90 minutes for the walk, which ends with a beer tasting in the Alehouse. Scheduled tours run from Wednesday to Sunday, and adult tickets start at $41 plus an online booking fee. Groups after another time can ask for a private tour. Every guest must be 18 or over, carry government-issued ID and arrive without having had a drink. Wear fully enclosed flat shoes, as the route has many stairs and can't take wheelchairs, crutches or other walking aids, and bags and cameras stay in lockers. The Alehouse doubles as a function venue on level 1 of the brewery. Its main bar has high ceilings, a fit-out made from steel and copper salvaged from the brewery, a pool table and a balcony, and holds 300 standing or 150 seated. The Boardroom takes 25 around one table or 180 theatre style, and the XXXX Cinema seats 50 for presentations or a movie night. Canapé packages start at $49 per person and run for three hours, and schooner and pint packages start at $59 per person. The Alehouse Bar carries a minimum spend from $5,500, and a private tour can be added for guests aged 18 and over. Send an enquiry with your date and numbers to plan a tour, a function or both.

Frequently asked questions

Is there an age limit on the XXXX brewery tour?

Yes. Every guest on the tour must be 18 or older and needs to carry government-issued ID on the day. You're also asked not to drink any alcohol before the tour begins.

How long does the tour take, and what's included?

Allow about 90 minutes for the guided walk through the brewery. It covers the history of XXXX, how the beers are made and how to pour one properly, then finishes with a beer tasting in the Alehouse.

What should we wear and bring on the day?

Wear fully enclosed flat shoes. Bags and cameras go into lockers before you set off, as loose items aren't allowed on the route. The tour includes many steps, so it can't cater for wheelchairs, crutches or other walking aids.

Can we book a private tour for our group?

Yes. Regular tours run Wednesday to Sunday, and other times can be arranged for group bookings. Send an enquiry with your preferred date and numbers, and mention if you'd like to hold a function in the Alehouse as well.

Can we hold a function in the Alehouse?

Yes. The Alehouse Bar holds 300 standing or 150 seated, with a minimum spend of $5,500 Monday to Friday and $6,500 on weekends. The Boardroom suits meetings for up to 180 theatre style, and the XXXX Cinema seats 50.

What's the easiest way to get to the brewery?

Public transport is the easiest option. Trains on the Ipswich and Richlands line stop at Milton, buses run along Milton Road and the CityCat stops at the Park Road terminal. On-site parking is limited, and Suncorp Stadium event days bring parking restrictions to the area from midday.
