How Escape Rooms Actually Work

Escape Hunt Brisbane runs its seven rooms from a basement on Russell Street in West End. A game host briefs each team, then the clock starts on a one-hour mission.

The seven Russell Street rooms:

Alice in Puzzleland and Aladdin & The Magic Vault lean on storybook settings.
Blackbeard's Treasure and The Jewel Thief are hunts for hidden loot.
Bomb at Government House races the team against a ticking device.
Legend of the Sword is the big room, fitting four to ten players together.
The other rooms suit teams of two to six, from $45 per person.

Bigger groups book several rooms side by side and compare times at the end, which turns a birthday or office outing into a contest.

Events last two or three hours and take anywhere from ten players up to 46.
Adult birthdays, hens and bucks, team building and Christmas parties all qualify.
Kids' parties are designed for ages 7 to 15.
Food and drink packages can be added to an event booking.

Comfort and access at Escape Hunt Brisbane

Doors are never actually locked, so anyone can step out for a break.
Several rooms are wheelchair accessible.
A lounge with tea, coffee and board games looks after people waiting.
There is a small snack bar, though alcohol is not served.
