About The Prop House Collective
The Prop House Collective is an event styling and prop hire business run from a black-and-white striped showroom on Stanley Street East in Coorparoo. Founded by director Jano Kotzas, the team has been dressing Brisbane functions for three decades. There are two ways to work with them. Hirers can browse the Prop Hire Shop and pick their own pieces – backdrops and arches, artificial florals and foliage, lanterns and chandeliers, marquee letters, linen, seating, tables, plinths and oversized novelty statues, sorted by theme from Gatsby and Casino to Garden Party, Tropical and Baby Shower. Or a stylist can design the whole look from a project brief, with the crew installing on the day and returning to dismantle. Past styling jobs include a Shanghai Nights event for YPO, a 150th anniversary ball for Brisbane Girls Grammar School, a Candyland Christmas function for Women In Insurance and a range of gala dinners and presentation dinners. A props builder makes custom pieces when nothing in stock fits the brief. Christmas is a big part of the year: the showroom turns into a festive shop from September, and the team styles Christmas functions and parties as well as commercial installations. The showroom is open by appointment, so send an enquiry to book a time or request a quote.

Can I hire props without booking the styling service?
Yes. The Prop Hire Shop lets you choose individual pieces such as backdrops, arches, florals, lanterns and furniture, and the team can help you work out a look for your event.

Can I see the props before I hire them?
Yes. The Coorparoo showroom on Stanley Street East is open by appointment, with on-site parking, so you can look at props in person and talk through ideas with a stylist.

No. The showroom FAQ says balloons and costumes are not part of the range, but the team can help with the rest of your party styling, from backdrops to table settings.
What happens if a hired prop is damaged?
Hire items stay the property of The Prop House Collective. Under its hire terms, lost or damaged items are charged at replacement or repair cost, and linen returned wet or damaged is charged in full.
