New Farm Bowls Club - party venue in Brisbane

150

Planning a bucks party? New Farm Bowls Club is a bowls club beside New Farm Park with a function room for up to 150 guests.

How Bucks Party Venues Actually Work

New Farm Bowls Club swaps the usual pub crawl for an afternoon barefoot on the greens. The club sits beside New Farm Park on Brunswick Street, and its bucks package rolls bowls, burgers and bubbles into one booking.

What a bucks crew gets at the Brunswick Street club:

Two hours on the rinks with bowls supplied and coaching for anyone who has never sent down a wood.
Twelve rinks taking up to 10 players each, so a big group can split into rival teams.
Shade over long outdoor tables facing the greens, in four separate spots, handy between ends.
A separate function room for 6 to 150 if the party heads indoors after the game.
Catering from the club's bistro, from platters for ten or more through to à la carte meals.

Package prices aren't published, so send the date and head count for a quote.

Outside food can't be brought in, because the bistro caters every function.
Live bands and personal speakers aren't allowed under the club's licence, so music runs through the house system.
Public transport is easy, with the 196 bus pulling in at the club gate and a CityCat terminal serving New Farm Park, which suits a group leaving the cars at home.
Barefoot bowls is paid in advance, so pin down numbers early.

Shaping the afternoon on the greens

Start on the rinks in daylight, then take over a shaded table for the burgers.
Mixed-ability groups work, since coaching comes with the session.
If the crew outgrows the deck, the clubhouse seats about 100 inside.
The club has been on this site since 1907, which gives the day a traditional backdrop.
