Choosing a Guided Adventure Day

Macgregor's climbing gym, CRANK Indoor Climbing, takes up a warehouse at the rear of 537 Kessels Road. It covers roped walls, bouldering and a Ninja Warrior obstacle course under one roof.

Inside the Kessels Road warehouse:

  • Sport-climbing walls from 8 to 12 metres high carry more than 100 routes.
  • Routes run from low-angle slab on the Green wall to a steep roof on the Blue wall.
  • Sixty metres of bouldering, up to 4 metres high, sits over deep matting.
  • Auto-belays let beginners climb without a rope partner, and a kids wall has six of its own.
  • New climbs are set three times a week.

This is indoor rock climbing rather than outdoor abseiling, so it suits groups who want the height without a day in the bush.
