Abseiling & Canyoning in Kangaroo Point

Riverlife Adventure Centre works out of the Naval Stores building on Kangaroo Point Cliffs Drive. Its signature outing starts at the top of the cliffs, where the group takes in the city view before stepping backwards over the edge.

How the Kangaroo Point abseil runs:

• A safety briefing comes first, then guides fit harnesses and helmets.
• Guides handle the rope from above and talk each person down the roughly 20-metre face.
• Nervous first-timers are looked after closely, with no rush to go over.
• The activity costs from $85 per person.
• Children from eight can abseil with an adult present until they turn 16.

Once six people are confirmed, the session is private, and the day can grow to include rock climbing or a paddle.
