Planning a birthday party? Sandy Gallop Golf Club is a golf club function centre in Churchill with rooms for up to 200 guests.

Choosing the Right Birthday Party Venue

Birthdays in Churchill can look out over bush-lined fairways beside Deebing Creek at Sandy Gallop Golf Club on Lobb Street. It is one of the more budget-friendly ways to hold an Ipswich birthday, because hosts can cater for themselves.

What Sandy Gallop Golf Club offers a birthday party:

From $200 room hire for the smaller rooms, with the main function room at a higher rate.
Up to 200 people fit in the main room, which has plenty of space to dance.
A verandah of its own for a party of about 20.
Cooled rooms on two floors, parking off the street and a pokies-free club.
Your own food heated in the club's oven and microwave, or a menu the club puts together.

Every drink, even soft drinks and a cuppa, has to be bought over the club's bar because of its licence.

A conventional oven and microwave are available for hosts bringing their own food.
Plan dishes that reheat well, since the kitchen has nothing for frying or cooking on gas.
If you'd rather not cook, the club builds a menu, anything from a barbie or nibbles up to a plated dinner.
Ask about bringing the birthday cake or a family dish if the club is doing the rest.

Timing a Sandy Gallop birthday night

Last drinks are at 11.30pm.
The room must be empty by 12, so fit speeches and cake in well ahead.
The Small Function Room, Upstairs Function Rooms and Downstairs Function Room suit different group sizes.
Fairway outlooks make an afternoon start worthwhile for photos.
