Princess Parties Australia brings costumed storybook characters to children's birthday parties across Brisbane. It is run by owner Gabby, who performs as one of the princesses alongside a cast with singing, dancing and theatre backgrounds. The character list is long: snow queens and sisters, a mermaid, a sleeping princess, fairies in pink, blue and green, a unicorn called Sparkles, and a ballerina. At Halloween there is a witch and a vampire girl as well. The costumes, wigs and accessories are what you see in the photos, though the performer on the day may be a different cast member. Every package includes story telling, at least one game, photos with guests, a cake ceremony and a keepsake tiara for the birthday child. Longer parties add face painting and bubbles, and the three-hour royal package brings two characters, a sing-a-long, glitter hairspray and face painting for up to 40 children. The parties suit girls and boys of any age. As a guide, the shorter packages work for about 10 children and the two-hour package for about 15, so everyone gets their face painted and some time with the character. All the props come with the performers. You only need to put out a table and chairs for face painting, plus a cup of water. Indoors is preferred, and an outdoor party needs a shaded seating area and a wet weather backup. Parties have been held in homes, halls, churches, cafés, clubs and parks.

Performance Details

Performers arrive in costume and stay in character for the full 1 to 3 hours of the package, bringing all props and face paints. The hosts supply a table, chairs and a cup of water. No music or power is needed, and indoor spaces are preferred.
