About Lightning Games
Lightning Games is a family-owned party business at Eatons Hill in north Brisbane. Its gaming van is roughly eight metres long and fitted out as a mini arena, with a wall of 50-inch screens down one side, padded bench seating along the other and air-conditioning throughout. The base booking covers ten players, and every child gets an individual console rather than sharing. The van carries Xbox Series X, PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch machines with a long list of games, from Fortnite and Roblox to Rocket League, Fall Guys and Mario titles. Families can request a particular game ahead of the day, and one extra seat inside plus a PlayStation under the side awning take the group to a maximum of fifteen. The team aims to arrive about 20 minutes before the start time to set up, and earlier if a generator is needed. Hosts hold Working with Children blue cards and keep the session running smoothly, while parents stay nearby to supervise. At a home party the van needs a level spot to park, a dual power point on its own circuit and, ideally, a cable into the home router for online play, with 5G internet available as an add-on. Two hours is the length suggested for a kids’ birthday, and the cake is easiest to cut once gaming wraps up. Bookings are secured with a deposit and the balance is invoiced a week before the party. Performance Details

Frequently asked questions
How many children can play in the Lightning Games van at once?
The base booking covers ten gamers, each on a separate console inside the van. One more can join inside and four more can play on a PlayStation under the side awning, for a maximum of fifteen at a time.
What does the Lightning Games van need at my house?
It needs a firm, reasonably flat place to park such as a driveway or kerbside, plus a dual power point on its own circuit. A cable into your home router lets the kids play online; if that is not available, onboard 5G internet can be added for a fee.
Can the gaming van come to a park without power?
Yes. A 3.5 kW generator can be brought along to run the van, charged at $140 for the first two hours. With the generator the team arrives around 30 minutes before the start so there is time to unload it and set up.
Can kids log in to their own game accounts?
No. Each gaming position uses the van's own logins, so personal accounts and payment details are never left on the consoles for the next booking. Players can still squad up together in games like Fortnite through the van's accounts.
What happens to a Lightning Games booking if a storm is forecast?
Rain is no problem because the players are inside the van. If damaging storms or hail are forecast, the business will move the party to another date rather than risk the van, and it will talk this through with you beforehand.
