Getting Paintball and Laser Tag Right

Docklands' laser tag arena is part of a bigger carnival. Archie Brothers Cirque Electriq Docklands fills a space inside The District at 440 Docklands Dr with striped tents and neon signs, and the game here is laser tag rather than paintball, with bowling, dodgems and an arcade on the same floor.

Entry is free; play runs on a game card loaded with credit. How a laser tag outing works:

  • Buy an Archie Bros game card on arrival, top it up and tap it at each game.
  • Mix laser tag battles with dodgem cars and the XD motion theatre.
  • Hundreds of arcade and ticket games feed a prize counter stacked high.
  • Function packages add a reserved area, food and optional drinks.
  • Games starting from $23 per person.

Function packages are sized for 10 to 30 guests.

  • The entry package includes an hour in the arcade or a game of bowling, with shared pizzas and fries.
  • Step up a package and the group gets house drinks for an hour or two, plus finger food of your choosing.

  • Booths are bookable only as part of a function.

Curfews, food rules and transport for laser tag

  • After 8pm, grown-ups should carry ID, and younger kids need a responsible adult.
  • No outside food is allowed; the diner and the cocktail bar, home of the Circus Sour, look after meals and drinks.
  • Park in The District's West Car Park, or ride the free 86, 35 or 70 tram out of Southern Cross.
