How Escape Rooms Actually Work

Hard puzzles are the point at Rush Escape Game Chadstone, 53 Warrigal Road. Two of its three rooms carry a five-out-of-five difficulty rating, and plenty of capable teams don't make it out.

The venue fits up to 14 players in one slot – a small birthday, hens or bucks group, a sharp work team, or a pair after a challenging date night.

The Chadstone rooms:

  • Mission:Possible: an all-ages spy heist to find a rogue agent and extract a microchip, for two to four players.
  • Da Vinci Down Under: symbols, ciphers and history in a treasure-hunt format, for two to four.
  • HackSaw: Remastered: a harder rebuild of Rush's Saw-inspired horror game for two to six, aged 16 and over.
  • No scares: neither of the two puzzle rooms has any.
  • Price: from $70 per person.

Each game lasts 60 minutes; allow about 90 on site for check-in, briefing and the photo debrief.
