About The Island Room @ Ballina Byron Islander Resort
Ballina Byron Islander Resort sits on Ronan Place in Ballina, a low-rise resort of 40 ground-floor rooms set around tropical gardens and a saltwater lagoon pool. Alongside the accommodation it runs a conference and events centre, an in-house kitchen and Tavola, its poolside restaurant and wine bar. The Island Room is the main function space. It covers about 130 square metres, is air-conditioned and soundproofed, and gets plenty of natural light. Built-in AV, a presentation screen, microphones and wifi are on hand for speeches and slideshows. The room seats up to 100 for a banquet or theatre layout and takes 120 for a cocktail party. Cabaret, herringbone, U-shape and boardroom setups suit smaller daytime groups. Doors lead straight into the wine bar and a covered courtyard looking over the pool, so a function can move outside for drinks. Food comes from the resort kitchen: canapés, grazing boards, buffets, gourmet barbecues and plated two or three course menus, with vegan, vegetarian and gluten-free options. Drinks run as a set package, a bar tab with a limit, or guests buying their own at the bar. Weddings are a big part of the calendar. Couples can marry on the private garden lawn, move to the courtyard for cocktail hour if it rains, then hold the reception in the Island Room with a dance floor and sound system. Birthdays, baby showers, reunions, graduations and hens and bucks nights are hosted here too. An events manager handles planning, floor plans, styling and supplier coordination.
