About Shelter Lennox
Shelter is a beachside restaurant on Pacific Parade in Lennox Head, looking out across the road to Seven Mile Beach. It serves breakfast and lunch daily and dinner later in the week, and it runs weddings and private events alongside the restaurant. For an event you can book the private dining room or the whole venue. The indoor restaurant has bifold windows that open fully to the street side, and there is a separate outdoor area for drinks and canapés. The full venue takes up to 120 guests for a cocktail reception and up to 92 for a seated meal, served as a banquet or a plated menu. Tables, stools and around 95 wooden chairs come with the space. Wedding ceremonies are held on the grass across the road, with the ocean and headland behind. An arbour, white pews, a signing table and rattan chairs can be hired, and the private dining room becomes the wet-weather option. The kitchen cooks seasonal produce from local growers, with a flavour-led style that draws on Asian cooking. Event menus run from grazing stations and canapés to a shared banquet and a longer degustation, and dietary needs are handled. An in-house coordinator liaises with the chefs and your suppliers, writes the run sheet and manages the day itself. Full-venue bookings also include the two-bedroom apartment upstairs, at a reduced rate. Send an enquiry to check dates.

How many guests can Shelter hold for an event?
Taking the full venue, Shelter seats up to 92 guests or hosts up to 120 for a standing cocktail reception. Smaller groups can book the private dining room instead.
Can we have our wedding ceremony at Shelter?
Yes. Ceremonies take place on the grass on the beach side of the road, so guests only need to walk across. Shelter can supply a wooden arbour, six white pews, a signing table and two rattan chairs for hire, and the private dining room is used if it rains.
What do the event menus cost?
The shared banquet is $95 per person and the premium degustation is $130 per person. Canapés are $9 each for the standard range and $11 each for premium. Grazing stations are priced per person, from crudités at $15 to antipasto or cheese at $25, and an oyster station with a chef shucking to order is $12 per person. Menus and prices change with the seasons.
Are drinks packages required?
Weddings and events of 50 or more guests need a beverage package of at least four hours. The standard package is $80 per person and the premium package, which adds spirits and a spritz, is $95 per person. Extra hours are $20 per person each. An alcohol-free package of mocktails, house lemonade and ginger beer is $35 per person for four hours.
