About Papillon Studio Photography
Papillon Studio Photography is a family business run from a small studio in Alexandra Hills, open by appointment. Photography runs back several generations in the family – the founder, Sylvie, learned the trade in her mother's studio before starting Papillon in Brisbane close to three decades ago. Today she works alongside photographers Kelly and Amy, and the team has added experienced videographers so couples can book photos, film or both. Weddings are the heart of the work. The team regularly shoots at bayside and Redlands venues including Cherbon Waters, Sirromet, Redland Bay Golf Club, Wynnum Golf Club, Wellington Point Farmhouse and The Lighthouse, and on Stradbroke Island too. Their approach is relaxed and colourful, with only light direction so the real moments come through. On the day, coverage can take in the getting-ready rooms, guests arriving, the ceremony and first kiss, family and group shots, bridal party portraits at a few spots, then the reception – speeches, cake cutting, the bouquet toss and the first dance. Before the wedding there is a planning meeting to settle the timeline, family photo list and locations. Engagement sessions run for 45 to 60 minutes at a spot picked for you, and the team can even capture the proposal itself. Afterwards you come into the studio for a private viewing to choose images, prints or albums, with no pressure to buy more than you love. Send an enquiry with your date to talk through a package.
