About DJ Desi – Bollywood Bhangra Indian DJs
DJ Desi is a Brisbane DJ service built around South Asian celebrations, with more than ten years of weddings, receptions and private functions behind it. Bollywood and Bhangra are the heart of every set, and the DJ can switch to full runs of R&B, retro and dance music, or Tamil, Telugu, Nepalese and Sri Lankan Baila tracks, whenever the room calls for it. Weddings are where the service goes deepest. During the ceremony, a gentle mix of shehnai, santoor, flute and sitar sets the mood, and the standard ceremony package covers the DJ and a sound system, with a lapel mic for the priest and wireless mics for whoever is hosting. Dhol players can lead the groom in to the mandap while a second sound system near the entrance plays Bollywood, Bhangra and Garba. Receptions step up to trussed lighting and moving heads, and the night can add Bollywood or Bhangra dancers, belly dancers, dhol drummers and an MC, all coordinated through the one booking. The kit runs on Pioneer DJ players and mixers, Electro-Voice ETX speakers and Chauvet and American DJ lighting with lasers, haze and LED par cans, and cables are secured and hidden at every setup. Beyond weddings, the team plays engagements, sangeet and mehndi nights, birthdays for any age, cultural nights, gala dinners and Bollywood-themed corporate functions, and can supply projectors, screens, extra PA systems, karaoke systems and live sound.
