Choosing a Guided Adventure Day

The Kangaroo Point Cliffs are the Inner South's natural climbing wall, rising straight above the river opposite the CBD. Riverlife Adventure Centre, based in the old Naval Stores at their foot, runs guided abseils down them.

Why the cliffs work for a group outing:

The drop is about 20 metres, a real thrill without needing any climbing background.
Qualified guides control the rope from the top and coach each person down.
Groups of at least six can book a private abseil on a day and time that suits them.
Prices start from $85 per person, with every piece of gear supplied.
Abseilers need to be at least eight, and those aged 8 to 16 need an adult with them.

Because Riverlife also runs rock climbing and kayaking, a group can pair the abseil with a second activity in one booking.

A two-hour guided team-building adventure is built for work groups.
Teams can tackle one activity together or split into smaller groups.
