What to Know Before Booking Christmas Party Venues

Holland Park Sports Club is a community bowls club, started by locals in 1941, that hires its hall for end-of-year parties. It suits a team or social club wanting a relaxed break-up with the freedom to bring its own food.

What the Abbotsleigh Street club offers a Christmas party:

  • A fully air-conditioned hall with room for 100 at tables.
  • An optional kitchen, so the organisers handle the cooking and serving themselves.
  • Seven bowling rinks, with a green available to hire for a private game.
  • An air-conditioned bar with beer, wine, spirits and craft beers.
  • Hourly hire, so the booking can match the length of the party.

The club also takes corporate functions, so a work team is as welcome as a sporting or social club.

  • A bond is held when the hall is booked and refunded after the function.
  • Bar service outside normal trading hours adds an hourly charge for casual staff.
  • The rest of the hire cost is paid on arrival.

Making the most of the greens

  • A game on a hired green gives the team something to do before the meal.
  • Groups can book a green for a private function of their own.
  • Hall and greens on one site keep everyone together for the afternoon.
  • Anyone not keen on bowls can stay in the air-conditioned hall or bar.
