Meet the Team: Why Your Story Builds Trust

By Party Hero · 15 September 2026

Every listing can share the real people behind the business – here's why that builds client trust and helps you get found, and what to write.

Why it matters

Most party and event directories read the same: a business name, a price, a list of features. That makes it hard for a client to tell one supplier from another – and it means every listing sounds a bit like a brochure.

The "Meet the Team" section on your listing is the opposite of that. It's where you tell clients who you actually are: why you started the business, what you love about the work, how long you've been doing it. That single change does three things at once:

  • It builds trust before the enquiry. Clients book more confidently with a real person than with a faceless business.
  • It makes your listing genuinely unique. Two boat hire businesses can offer near-identical inclusions, but no one else has your story.
  • It helps you get found. Search engines and AI assistants increasingly favour pages with specific, original detail over generic descriptions – a real story is exactly that kind of detail.

What to write

You can add as many headings as you like, each with its own short piece of text. A few ideas to get started (you'll see these as quick-add buttons when editing your listing):

  • Year established – how long you've been running, and what's changed since you started.
  • What we love – the part of the job that actually gets you out of bed. Specific beats generic: "getting the whole boat singing on a 21st" tells a client more than "we love making memories."
  • About us (our journey) – how the business came to be, in a few sentences. It doesn't need to be a full biography – just enough that a client feels like they know you a little.

There's no minimum or maximum – one heading is better than none, and a few genuinely different ones is better than one.

Add a photo of yourself or your team

A face makes all of this land. You can upload a few photos of you and your team alongside your written story – it's a separate, smaller photo strip from your main listing gallery, so your product photos stay focused on what you offer, and this stays focused on who you are.

Keep it genuinely yours

Write it the way you'd actually say it to a client standing in front of you. The more specific and true to your own business, the more it stands out – both to a browsing client and to the search engines and AI tools reading your listing.
