About Open Air Events
Open Air Events is a marquee and event hire company working out of a warehouse in Dandenong South and installing across metropolitan Melbourne. It handles private parties, weddings, school events and corporate functions, and offers an obligation-free consultation on site to work out sizing and layout. The core of the range is clear span marquees, which have no internal poles getting in the way of tables or a dance floor. Clear roof versions come in 3, 6, 10 and 15 metre widths and can hold anything from a backyard birthday to a wedding of around 400 seated guests. White roof marquees with liners are also available, and the team can fit them out with festoon and decorative lighting for evening events. For tighter budgets there is a DIY option: a 3 x 3 m or 3 x 6 m pop-up marquee collected from the warehouse, with the frame, roof, side walls and grass pegs included. Two people can set it up in minutes, and instructions are given at pick-up. Around the marquee, the hire list covers bentwood, Americana and arrow chairs, trestle and cubic bar tables, bar stools, cassette flooring, carpet tiles, synthetic grass, market umbrellas, heaters, white picket fencing and concrete weights for hard surfaces. In-house carpenters, fabricators and sewers allow custom builds and branded fit-outs, and staff can help sort permits for marquees in parks and public places. What sizes of clear roof marquee are available?
Clear roof marquees come in 3, 6, 10 and 15 metre widths and can be extended in length, covering everything from a backyard birthday to a wedding for around 400 seated guests.
Can I set up a marquee myself to save money?
Yes. The DIY pop-up comes in 3 x 3 m ($130 + GST) or 3 x 6 m ($220 + GST) and includes the frame, roof, side walls and pegs for grass. You collect it, and two people can put it up without tools.
What if the marquee is going on concrete?
Pegs only suit grass, so marquees on concrete or other hard surfaces need weights. Concrete blocks are on the hire list and an extra charge applies for non-pegable sites.
Do you help with permits for public places?
Yes. For weddings and events in parks and other public spaces, the team can help organise the marquee and event permits needed before installation.
What else can be hired with the marquee?
Bentwood, Americana and arrow chairs, trestles and cubic bar tables, bar stools, flooring, carpet tiles, synthetic grass, umbrellas, heaters, lighting and white picket fencing are all available.
