About Westgate Party & Event Hire
Westgate Party & Event Hire is a family-owned hire business in Williamstown North that has been fitting out Melbourne functions since the late 1980s. Its work ranges from backyard 21sts and engagement parties to weddings, Christmas functions, festivals and race-day events. Staff can also help plan and manage an event from start to finish, building a concept around what the host has in mind. Marquees are the core of the range. Quick-erect pop-ups in 3 x 3 m and 6 x 3 m come with walls, and the smaller one fits in a station wagon. Pagoda marquees run from 3 x 3 m to 6 x 12 m, and aluminium-framed structures in 3 m bays can seat up to 1000 people. All the marquees are white, and for weddings they can be fitted with silk linings and lighting to create a reception room on a lawn, tennis court or golf course. The lighting and sound list is broad: Bluetooth PA speakers with a microphone, JBL Partybox speakers, roving microphones, gig bars with lasers, par cans, strobes, smoke and bubble machines, a mirror ball, fairy and festoon lights, a star cloth curtain, projectors and screens. Light-up numbers and a colour-changing neon Happy Birthday sign make a ready photo backdrop. Tables, chairs, heating, flooring, stages, catering equipment, a walk-in cool room and a generator round out the range. Customers can collect from the warehouse or arrange delivery. Frequently asked questions
What is the cheapest marquee option?
The 3 x 3 m pop-up shelter is $190 and comes with four walls; a 6 x 3 m pop-up is $290. Delivery and labour are charged on top, and pagoda and framed marquees are priced on application.
Can I pick up the equipment myself?
Yes. Collection from the Williamstown warehouse is available, and the small pop-up marquee fits in a station wagon. Delivery is also available, with drop-off and return options for selected products.
Do you hire sound equipment for speeches?
Yes. A Bluetooth PA speaker with a microphone is $150, roving wireless microphones are $50 and a JBL Partybox is $100, with an optional microphone for $50.
What lighting is available for a 21st?
Light-up numbers stand 100 cm or 120 cm high, a neon Happy Birthday sign is $100, and gig bars, mirror balls, strobes, smoke machines and festoon lights round out the dance floor.
Can you keep drinks cold at a large function?
Yes. A walk-in portable cool room with shelving is $330, with internal space of 2.3 m deep, 1.6 m wide and 1.8 m high, suited to larger functions.
