About VR Motorsports

VR Motorsports is a racing simulator venue on Container Street in Tingalpa. It runs six full-motion simulators, each driven by six actuators that move the cockpit quickly in every direction, so drivers feel the bumps, kerbs and weight shifts of a real car through a VR headset. All six are linked, so a group can race each other or drift side by side on the same track. A visit starts with a short briefing, then drivers pick from a garage of more than 450 cars and over 150 circuits. Sessions last 12 minutes, the car and track can change between sessions, and each race is replayed on the big screen. Drivers need enclosed shoes, must be between 140cm and 200cm tall and weigh no more than 130kg, and children under 12 need an adult with them. For events, the venue hires out all six machines by the hour, with groups taking turns in waves of six. Groups of 13 or more can add catering or bring their own food, while all drinks come from the licensed bar, where a tab can be opened for the group. The venue holds up to 60 guests, and full private hire is available for an extra fee. Team building, corporate events, bucks nights and birthdays are all catered for, so send an enquiry with your numbers to plan the hire time.

Frequently asked questions

How does pricing work for a group event?

For events, all six simulators are hired together at $528 an hour, for one to five hours in half-hour steps. That fits about 24 races an hour, and full private venue hire adds $50 an hour. A 50% deposit is needed to book.

Is there a minimum age?

There is no minimum age, but drivers must be between 140cm and 200cm tall, weigh 130kg or less and fit a 40cm seat. Children under 12 must be with a responsible adult, and alcohol is served to over-18s only.

Can we bring our own food?

Yes, you can bring your own food or use a caterer of your choice, as long as you bring the utensils needed. The venue also suggests local caterers for groups of 13 or more. All drinks must be bought from the bar.

What if not everyone wants to race?

The venue has a lounge area, a licensed bar, a free pool table and table games such as Jenga and UNO, so guests who would rather watch can relax while the others take their turn.

How big a group can the venue hold?

The venue holds up to 60 guests. Groups under 12 are better off booking individual sessions, and groups of seven to 12 split into two bookings 15 minutes apart so everyone gets a turn.
