About Laser Commando
Laser Commando runs outdoor laser skirmish at the Murrenbong Scout Campsite in Kurwongbah, on Brisbane's northern edge. Games play out across a shaded bush area of roughly 150 by 150 metres, with plenty of trees for cover and plastic pallet bases to defend or attack. Players wear a cap fitted with sensors and carry phasers that fire invisible infrared beams, so there are no projectiles, no paint and no bruises. A two-hour session covers a safety briefing, gearing up and three or four missions of 15 to 30 minutes, with short breaks in between. Mission types include elimination, capture the flag, domination and supply runs, and staff pick games to suit the age and experience of the group. Groups need at least six players, and the team caters for up to 40 with its own phasers, choosing between lightweight models and a long-range sniper rifle. Children aged six and up can play, which suits kids' birthday parties, while workplaces book it for team building and corporate events. The team also brings games to backyards and local parks and rents out kits for groups to run themselves, so send an enquiry to check dates.
