About Thunderbowl Calamvale
Thunderbowl Calamvale is a compact bowling alley at the Calamvale Hotel on Compton Road, with six lanes running Qubica AMF Neoverse scoring. Booth seating at each lane keeps a group together, and the alley is open late on Friday and Saturday nights. Bumpers can be raised for individual players rather than the whole lane. That means young kids and grandparents can bowl in the same game without anyone feeling left out. Darts boards, pool tables and an arcade share the floor with the lanes, and tickets can be swapped at the prize wall on the way out. Guests who finish a game early always have something else to play. Party packages are priced per guest and cover bowling, food, drinks, arcade tickets, a host and table decorations. Kids, teen and adult packages are offered, and parties can be booked for as few as three guests with at least 48 hours' notice. The adult packages suit 18ths, 21sts, engagement parties, hens and bucks nights, team nights and Christmas functions, with the hotel's kitchen and bar behind the alley. Larger groups can use extra function space at the hotel. Under-18s must be with a parent or guardian for the whole visit, as the alley is part of a licensed hotel. Send an enquiry with your date and numbers to plan a party.

Frequently asked questions
What is the smallest party you take?
Parties can be booked for as few as three guests. Bookings need to be confirmed at least 48 hours ahead so the lane, table and host can be arranged, and weekends and school holidays fill early.
Do children need an adult with them?
Yes. The alley is part of a licensed hotel, so every guest under 18 must have a parent or legal guardian with them for the whole visit. The adults can order food and drinks from the hotel kitchen and bar.
What do the party packages cost?
Packages for children begin at $25 a head, while teen and adult packages each begin at $55, with higher tiers adding a second game, more food and drinks. Each price covers the lane, food, a drink, arcade tickets, a host and table decorations.
Can we bring a birthday cake?
Yes, a cake is welcome. Note it when you send an enquiry so plates and a knife can be set out at your table. Dietary needs should also be flagged at booking, as the hotel kitchen can usually arrange swaps.
Can you host a work function or a large group?
Yes. Corporate nights, team building, engagement parties, hens and bucks and Christmas functions are all held here. Groups too big for the bowling floor can use other function spaces at the Calamvale Hotel.
