About Eling Forest Winery

Eling Forest Winery sits on the Hume Highway at Sutton Forest in the Southern Highlands. The 180-acre property takes in open pasture, a lake, established gardens and a vineyard, along with a working winery, a cellar door and a café. Functions are held in the estate's function centre, which is booked on an exclusive basis. The room can be styled in a few different ways and seats up to 150 guests while still leaving space for a dance floor. The estate quotes events of anywhere from 10 to 180 people across its facilities. Weddings are the main event here. Ceremonies can take place outdoors against the lake and gardens, and the reception follows in the function centre. Because there are no noise restrictions and parking is unlimited, the night can run on without guests worrying about the car or the neighbours. The estate also hosts other functions and conferences. Corporate groups can pair a meeting or day event with a tasting at the cellar door and a meal from the café kitchen. Catering comes from the venue's own kitchen. Sample menus run from cold and hot canapés such as oysters, sushi, mini pies and sliders to mains like slow-braised lamb shoulder, sirloin or barramundi, followed by desserts such as pavlova, tiramisu and a gluten-free brownie. A heritage cottage and homestead on site can house a wedding party of 16 to 20, and the homestead works well as a base for getting ready on the day. Dogs are welcome in the outdoor areas of the estate.

Food

Catering is handled by the estate's own kitchen. The functions sample menu lists cold canapés such as Coffin Bay oysters, sushi, prawn and avocado lettuce cups and beetroot-cured salmon crostini, plus hot options including mini pies, pork belly, tandoori lamb cutlets and cheeseburger sliders.

Mains on the sample menu range from slow-braised lamb shoulder and grass-fed sirloin to barramundi, teriyaki salmon and mushroom risotto, and desserts include pavlova, tiramisu, chocolate mousse and gluten-free cakes. Vegetarian and gluten-free dishes are available on request.

Beverages

The estate makes its own cool-climate wines, including sparkling, which are poured at its cellar door. The site does not set out drinks packages for functions, so ask about wine and bar options when you enquire.
