About Briars Inn

Briars Inn sits on Moss Vale Road in Burradoo, on rural land between Bowral and Moss Vale, and has been welcoming guests since 1845. The original inn now anchors a food and drink precinct with a bistro, a beer garden and the historic Throsby's Bar. Functions centre on the upper floor, where three private dining rooms take groups of 12 to 28. A boardroom upstairs suits business meetings of up to 14, and the bistro can seat lunch groups of up to 14. Private dining runs on a three-course shared set menu at $85 per person. It opens with olives, sourdough, burrata and salt and pepper calamari, moves on to gnocchi, sirloin on the bone and roast chicken with sides, and finishes with desserts such as tiramisu. The bars pour English ales, craft and traditional beers on tap, classic cocktails and champagne, with wines from local and wider Australian producers. Throsby's Bar, named after founder Charles Throsby, has a fireplace and a vintage fit-out for drinks before or after dinner. The inn hosts casual birthday dinners, business events and gatherings either side of a wedding, including rehearsal dinners upstairs. Outdoor spaces such as the alfresco Terrace and the beer garden suit more relaxed get-togethers. Decorations such as balloons, confetti and sparklers aren't permitted, and a cakeage fee applies if you bring your own cake. Send an enquiry to book a private dining room or to plan a larger group.
