About Spirited Play Cafe
Spirited Play Cafe is an indoor play centre and café in Taylors Beach, at the far end of Innovation Close. It was set up by a child development and education practitioner, and its parties lean on free play, connection and creativity. The venue has two separate soft play areas plus two quieter chill-out rooms, aimed at children from about 12 months to 12 years. Colouring-in and play dough are part of a normal visit, and socks are needed on the play equipment. The café caters for a range of diets, including gluten free and vegan friendly choices. Party guests and parents sit at a reserved table while the children play, and the team can stretch from a small group of eight to a large private event for around 80 guests. There are three tiered birthday packages. Each covers a two-hour play session for eight children, partyware, nuggets with chips and cordial for every child, a bowl of lollies and a free return pass for the birthday child. The middle and top tiers add a party host and platters for the grown-ups, and the top tier also includes the cake. For a bigger celebration, the whole venue can be booked for 2.5 hours. The self-catered option includes the sound system and the choice of keeping the café kitchen and coffee machine running, while the catered option adds kids' meals, cordial, water and three platters for parents. How many children does a party package cover?
Each of the three birthday packages is priced for eight children, including the birthday child. Extra children can be added to any package at a set price per child.
Can we book the whole play café for a private party?
Yes. Private hire gives you the entire venue for 2.5 hours. The self-catered version is $950 for up to 50 children, and the catered version is $1,250 for 25 children, with extra guests charged on top.
What food is included in the packages?
Every package gives each child three nuggets, chips and cordial, plus a bowl of lollies. The Gold and Platinum packages add a fairy bread and sweets platter and a platter for the adults, and Platinum adds a fresh fruit platter and the cake.
Can we bring our own birthday cake?
Yes, a cake fee of $30 applies if you bring your own. The café also makes decorated layer cakes from $85 for up to nine people, plus themed cupcakes.
What ages is the play area suited to?
The playground is designed for children from about 12 months to 12 years, with two separate soft play areas and two chill-out rooms. Socks must be worn on the equipment.
