About Nelson Bay Golf Club
Nelson Bay Golf Club sits on Dowling Street in Nelson Bay, surrounded by a 27-hole course spread across 175 acres of coastal bushland. Kangaroos, wallabies and koalas are regular visitors to the fairways, and the clubhouse looks out over the course towards Tomaree Headland. The club hires out four event areas. The Tomaree Room opens onto its own terrace and suits up to 50 seated or 60 standing, while the Yacaaba Room has a private bar and holds 90 at banquet tables or 140 for cocktails. Open the two rooms into one and the space holds 160 guests at a formal dinner or as many as 210 standing, with a balcony wrapping around the outside for pre-dinner drinks. The courtyard, with a bar of its own, works for an afternoon drinks party of up to 60. The kitchen team behind the club's Bluewater Grill restaurant cooks every function menu on site. Options run from breakfast and two-course lunches through to canapé packages, plated two or three-course dinners, table feasting and casual or gourmet BBQs, and the chefs will cater for dietary needs. Drinks come through the club bar, with beverage packages available and a bar account that can be set up for the night. BYO drinks and outside food are not allowed under the club's licence and food safety rules. The rooms are air-conditioned, have audio-visual equipment and come set with round tables, white linen and glassware. Guests who are not members sign in on arrival, and an events coordinator works with you on menus, set-up and timings.

Menus are priced separately. Two-course lunches are $33 per person, canapé packages run from $35 to $55 per person depending on length, plated dinners are $45 for two courses or $55 for three, and table feasting is $60 per person. A deposit equal to the room hire, or at least $150, secures the date, and a 20% surcharge applies on public holidays.
Food
Platters such as cheese, antipasto, mini burgers and gourmet pies can be added, and there is a children's meal for guests under 12. Dietary needs are catered for when you confirm final numbers.

Can we bring our own drinks or food?

Room hire is for five hours. Evening functions run until 11pm on Fridays and Saturdays and 10pm on Sundays, while daytime functions wrap up by 4.30pm, or 4pm on Sundays.
