About Susie Figgis Celebrant
Susie Figgis is a full-time marriage celebrant whose home is a short ride from South Golden Beach in Byron Shire. Across eighteen years she has conducted more than 1,500 weddings, and her ceremonies aim to be elegant and meaningful while still leaving room for fun. It starts with a chat to see whether you click. From there Susie gets to know your history, your humour and your hopes, then writes a ceremony around them, reworking the draft until it feels right. She leans towards realism over an ideal of a flawless marriage, and keeps the focus on you rather than on herself. Vows get special attention. Susie helps you picture the shared life you are aiming for, then asks you to list the promises that will get you there. On the day she prompts the vows quietly, off the microphone, so you can hold hands and look at each other instead of juggling cards. She looks after the legal side too – your Notice of Intended Marriage needs to be with her at least a month before the wedding. Her journal includes weddings at Fig Tree Restaurant, Byron Surf Club and Byron View Farm, and ceremonies with rituals such as hand washing and a community vow. Send an enquiry for a quote.
