About Sam Johns Celebrant
Sam Johns is a Byron Bay marriage celebrant whose ceremonies are built around one habit: he learns them by heart. After getting to know you, your story and the people closest to you, he commits the ceremony to memory, so on the day he can look at you, look at your family and respond to the mood of the crowd instead of reading from a screen. His background explains the easy manner. He studied psychology, grew up as a preacher's son, once ran a live music venue and has served as vice president of a local Toastmasters club. He describes his style as relaxed, personal and genuine. Just the Rings is a legal-only ceremony with the two of you and two witnesses, held wherever suits – a beach, a park, a lookout, a backyard or a holiday rental. Intimate Rendezvous is for small weddings with your closest people and a fully personal ceremony. Elegant Gathering suits weddings of more than 20 guests and includes his wireless Bose PA so everyone can hear. Sam also works as a wedding MC. He prepares a reception run sheet, liaises with your photographer, venue and other suppliers, and looks after the microphone and timing through entrances, speeches, cake cutting and the first dance. The Complete Package combines celebrant and MC, and his MC Helper option gives a friend or relative a script, run sheet and tips if they are hosting instead. How much does Sam Johns charge for a legal-only wedding?
His Just the Rings legal-only ceremony has a service fee of $450. It is designed for the couple plus two witnesses, held at a location of your choosing.
Does Sam read the ceremony from a script?
No. He spends time preparing beforehand and learns the ceremony by heart, so he can stay present and speak directly to you and your guests.
Will our guests be able to hear at a larger wedding?
Yes. The Elegant Gathering package for weddings of more than 20 guests includes his professional wireless Bose PA system.
Can Sam be our MC as well as our celebrant?
Yes. The Complete Package covers both roles – he writes a reception run sheet, works with your venue and suppliers, and runs the formalities on the night.
