About Alcotraz Brisbane
Alcotraz Brisbane turns a night of cocktails into a piece of interactive theatre. Guests pull on an orange jumpsuit, are led into a metal cell and become the newest inmates of a fictional penitentiary on Gotha Street in Fortitude Valley. The bartenders are fellow prisoners, the guards are on the take and the Warden is always watching. Over 1 hour and 45 minutes the cast draws guests into the plot, and the aim is to trade contraband for drinks without getting caught. Each guest receives around four cocktails, or mocktails for anyone not drinking. Mixers, syrups and bitters are covered, and the experience is open to adults 18 and over with valid ID. Groups use it for birthdays, hens and bucks nights and team building. Cells seat up to six, so booking four to six people keeps your group together, and bigger parties are placed in neighbouring cells. Groups of up to 30 can book direct, while private hire suits 30 to 60 guests and can include a beverage selection, catering and two or four hours of venue rental. How many drinks are included?
Each guest gets roughly four cocktails, or non-alcoholic mocktails if preferred, made by the inmate bartenders. All mixers, bitters and syrups are part of the experience, and outside alcohol cannot be brought in.
How big a group can Alcotraz Brisbane take?
There is no minimum group size. Each cell seats six, larger groups are seated in nearby cells, groups of up to 30 can book directly, and private hire covers 30 to 60 guests.
Is there an age limit?
Yes, the experience is strictly for guests aged 18 and over, and valid photo ID is required on the night for every member of the group.
What should we wear?
Wear something light, as an orange jumpsuit goes on over your clothes when you arrive. The jumpsuits come in sizes XS to 4XL and can be tied around the waist if that is more comfortable.
Is food available, and how long does it run?
The standard experience lasts 1 hour and 45 minutes and no food is sold during regular sessions. Private group bookings can add catering, a beverage selection and two or four hours of venue hire.
