About Quality Event Hire
Quality Event Hire, known as QEH, is a marquee and event hire company working from Dandenong South. It supplies structures and fit-outs for corporate hospitality, product launches, exhibitions and community festivals around Melbourne, as well as weddings and private celebrations in backyards and gardens. Its marquees are European-made clearspan structures from Roder and Hoecker. The Party Tent range is the most versatile, coming in widths from 3 to 10 metres and growing in 3 metre bays to almost any length, and QEH also hires Roder Arch Tents, whose curved roof line carries branding well. Every structure holds a current occupancy permit and is put up by a licensed building practitioner, and the team can apply for the council permit required once a marquee passes 100 square metres. Inside, silk roof and wall linings, lighting from plain fluorescents to par cans, spotlights and uplighters, and audio packages from a simple speech set-up to large systems can be added, with technicians available to install or operate them. Furniture covers lounge, bar, dining, cafe and office styles, alongside linen, tableware, catering gear, heating, cooling, plants and fencing. For bigger projects the team offers event coordination, custom design and manufacture, site plans drawn to scale, and liaison with other suppliers. Frequently asked questions
How big can a marquee be?
The range runs from a small trade-stall structure to functions for 2000 guests or more, and Party Tents extend in 3 metre bays to almost any length in widths of 3 to 10 metres.
Do I need a permit for a marquee?
Marquees larger than 100 square metres need a building permit from the council. QEH can arrange it, but allow at least three weeks for approval; fees depend on the council and the number of marquees.
Who installs the marquees?
Each structure carries a current occupancy permit, and a licensed building practitioner puts it up in line with building codes, council requirements and workplace safety rules.
Can you supply sound and lighting?
Yes. Lighting runs from practical fluorescents to par cans, spotlights and uplighters, and sound systems come mains or battery powered with an amplifier, speakers and a microphone. Technicians can set up, explain or run the equipment.
Is the company only for corporate events?
No. Corporate work is a large part of the business, but the team also hires marquees and fit-outs for weddings, special occasions and backyard or garden parties.
