About Earth Kitesurfing
Earth Kitesurfing is a kite and foil school based in Lennox Head, teaching kitesurfing, hydrofoiling and wing foiling to beginners and intermediate riders. Lessons run seven days a week and are built around each student, so a first-timer and someone returning to the sport get very different sessions. Instructors hold Kiteboarding Australia qualifications. Lessons use radio helmets so the coach can talk you through each step while you are out on the water. Kite lessons begin on the beach with how the kite flies, the wind window and the safety systems, then move into shallow water near the shore for water starts and your first rides. Two and three lesson packages build on that until you can ride both ways and start turning. Foil lessons often start with a tow behind the boat to get a feel for the lift, before you choose between wing foiling, kite foiling or riding waves. Most kite sessions run in the afternoon once the wind picks up, while foiling can start as early as dawn. For a group, the school can put together a custom package for friends or family learning side by side, or shape a session around a corporate event. All kite equipment is supplied except on the advanced refresher lesson, and a wetsuit or rash vest can be arranged if you don't own one. Lessons are open to anyone 12 and over, with under 18s supervised by a parent or guardian. Every lesson depends on the weather, and the instructor makes the call if conditions aren't safe. Send an enquiry to book a group lesson.

Frequently asked questions
Can a group book lessons together?
Yes. The school builds custom lesson packages for friends or family learning together and can tailor a session for a corporate event. Send an enquiry with your group's numbers and experience.
How much does a lesson cost?
A hydrofoil beginner lesson is listed at $250 and a wing foil lesson at $300, while a three lesson kitesurf package is $850. Group and corporate packages are quoted to suit.
Is there a minimum age?
Lessons suit anyone aged 12 and over. Students under 18 need a parent or guardian supervising them during the lesson.
What should I bring to a lesson?
Pack a wetsuit or rash vest, swimwear, sunscreen, sunglasses on a floating strap, a towel and dry clothes, plus food and water. No wetsuit of your own? Let the school know and one can be arranged.
What happens if the wind or weather isn't right?
All lessons depend on the weather and the instructor decides whether it is safe to go out. If the school cancels, you can rebook at no cost, and another activity such as stand-up paddle boarding may be offered instead.
