Getting Paintball and Laser Tag Right

Lennox Head & Ballina is better known for surf at Lennox Point and its long beaches, but the cane and bush country behind the coast has room for a messier day out. Groups after paintball in this part of the shire head inland to Paintball Skirmish Ballina Byron, set on bushland at Pimlico.

Why groups pick the Pimlico field over a beach day:

Real bush cover: games are played among actual trees, so it feels nothing like an indoor arena.
A full three-hour outing that moves through five different skirmish scenarios.
Two styles of field, a jungle combat area for stalking and a quicker speedball layout built around tyre stacks.
Packs from $77 per person, each with overalls, a face mask and a marker included.
Group rates for bucks, hens and workplace bookings, so bigger crews pay less per head.

It is paintball only rather than laser tag, so expect a few welts and plenty of stories at dinner afterwards.

Lennox Head & Ballina Paintball & Laser Tag

Play in the morning or early afternoon and leave the evening free for the pubs and restaurants along the coast.
Keep the alcohol for later, because none is allowed on the paintball site.
Pack old shoes and clothes underneath the supplied camouflage overalls.
Summer storms roll through this coast, so keep a spare date in mind for a wet-season booking.

Choosing a paintball pack for a Ballina crew

The Soldier Pack, with 300 paintballs, suits first-timers or a group that wants a lighter day.
The Mega Deal lifts that to 500 paintballs for players who expect to fire freely.
The Terminator Pack carries 1,000 paintballs for the keenest shooters in the group.
Extra paintballs, finger gloves and skirmish boxes can be bought on the day if a pack runs dry.
