About Grand Ballroom @ Fairmont Resort Blue Mountains
Fairmont Resort Blue Mountains is an MGallery resort on Sublime Point Road in Leura, on the edge of the Jamison Valley. It has 224 rooms and suites, several restaurants and bars, and 23 meeting and event spaces. The Grand Ballroom is the main function room among them. It is formed by joining the Ballroom, made up of the Blaxland, Lawson and Wentworth rooms, with Pioneers, which holds the Oxley and Evans rooms. Opened up as one room it takes a seated wedding reception of up to 320 guests. The sections can also be booked on their own, so a smaller dinner or conference does not rattle around in the full space. High ceilings, adjustable lighting and a foyer next door give room for pre-dinner drinks, speeches and dancing. An audio-visual company based at the resort looks after staging, sound and presentation equipment. For weddings there are two reception packages, Classic Romance and Classic Chic. Both include half an hour of canapés, a three-course alternate plated dinner, four hours of beverages, a five-hour reception with wait staff, a dance floor and a deluxe room for the couple, while Classic Chic adds a backdrop, stage lighting and a microphone for the MC. Ceremonies can be held by the garden lakes, under the gazebo or on Jamison Valley Green before guests move inside. Corporate groups can add conference packages, team-building activities and accommodation, and every event is run with a dedicated planner from the events team.

Frequently asked questions
How many guests does the Grand Ballroom hold?
The resort's wedding kit lists the Grand Ballroom at up to 320 guests for a reception, and the Ballroom section alone at up to 250. Final numbers depend on what goes in the room, such as a stage, dance floor or buffet, so the events team confirms the layout for each booking.
Can the Grand Ballroom be split for a smaller event?
Yes. It is made up of the Ballroom (the Blaxland, Lawson and Wentworth rooms) and Pioneers (the Oxley and Evans rooms), and Pioneers can itself be divided into two smaller rooms.
What is included in a wedding reception package?
Both packages cover 30 minutes of canapés, a three-course alternate plated dinner, cakeage, tea and coffee, four hours of beverages and a five-hour reception with wait staff. They also include round tables with white linen, a dance floor, a gift and cake table, a menu tasting for two, a deluxe room for the couple with late check-out and free parking for guests.
Is audio-visual equipment available?
Yes. The resort has its own audio-visual company on site, and the ballroom is set up with sound, presentation equipment, adjustable lighting and staging options for speeches, launches and conferences.
Can guests stay at the resort after the event?
Yes. The resort has 224 rooms and suites, so wedding guests and delegates can stay on site. Larger groups can also ask about taking over the whole resort, which requires 210 rooms for each night of the stay and a two-night minimum on weekends and in school holidays.

A beautiful place for children with a great location. The staff were very welcoming and took the time to explain everything about the venue. You won’t need to go out much, as most facilities and activities are available…

Beautiful weekend away! We had a delux room with a balcony and had stunning views of the mountains. The balcony was on the smaller side, so it is definitely for only two people and a drink. Service made us feel welcome a…

This was our second stay at the Fairmont (our first was just 4 months ago and we enjoyed it so much that we booked another stay). We love the location, the 'cosy/warm' feel of the building and rooms, and the facilities a…
