About Mittagong Hotel
Mittagong Hotel occupies a heritage building on Main Street in Mittagong that first traded in 1890 as the Exchange Hotel. Locals still call it The Top Pub, and it runs a bar, a bistro, a front room, an outdoor courtyard under a large old tree and fourteen guest rooms upstairs. For private events the hotel offers two separate spaces. The Cottage stands within the courtyard and holds up to 60 guests at tables or 110 for a standing celebration, which suits birthday parties, cocktail-style gatherings and smaller wedding receptions. The Distillery sits off the hotel's laneway among copper stills and barrels. It fits 30 seated or 50 standing, and works well for a birthday, a get-together before or after a wedding, or a group cocktail class where guests learn to mix two drinks of their choosing. The kitchen can set out a grazing spread, send platters around a standing party or serve three courses at the table. Drinks packages are arranged alongside the food, drawing on a bar that pours Southern Highlands wines, local spirits and house cocktails. An in-house events team helps plan the food, drinks, music and decorations for each booking. Guests who want to stay the night can reserve rooms upstairs.
