About Happy Camper Pizza

Happy Camper Pizza is a family business run by Sonia Lear and Remi Pham, who turned a 1965 Airstream caravan into a pizza truck and have since built a fleet of restored vintage vehicles. Their base is a commercial kitchen in Braybrook, where dough is made 48 hours ahead before heading out to events. The fleet includes the Airstream Allegra, Merri the Chevy, the teardrop trailers Gwyneth and Joie, and Farrah the Bedford. Each truck carries a wood-fired oven, and the compact Joie needs only about 4 by 3 metres of space and fits through a standard gate, so it suits courtyards and venues with tight access. Packages are all-you-can-eat and cover the trucks, a professional crew and continuous pizza, with gourmet, classic, vegan and dessert pizzas on the menu. Larger packages add shared grazing boards, salads, gelato and canapés, and extras include arancini, meatballs, cannoli, tiramisu and lawn games. Gluten-free and vegan guests are catered for with small surcharges. Weddings can book cocktail-hour pizza, full reception catering or a late-night round. Private clients use the trucks for kids' birthdays, milestone birthdays, engagement parties and backyard gatherings, while workplaces book 90-minute lunches, Friday afternoon rewards, conference catering and Christmas parties complete with party lights. The crew sets up, cooks, serves and packs down, and service is casual and truck-side, so wait staff are not usually needed. Send an enquiry with your date, location and guest numbers for a tailored quote.

Frequently asked questions

How much does Happy Camper Pizza cost?

Public packages run from $38 per adult for all-you-can-eat classic pizza up to $81 per adult for canapés, grazing boards, pizza, salads and gelato, with kids from $26. Prices include GST, and corporate packages start from $28 per person.

Can they cater for gluten-free and vegan guests?

Yes. Gluten-free pizzas are made to order for a $6 surcharge per gluten-free guest, and vegan cheese can be added for $3 per vegan guest, or you can choose the all-you-can-eat vegan pizza package.

How much space does a truck need?

It depends on the vehicle. The compact Joie teardrop trailer needs only about 4 by 3 metres of setup space and fits through a standard gate, making it the go-to choice for courtyards and venues with limited access.

Can we change guest numbers after booking?

Yes. Details are finalised about six weeks before the event. Numbers can rise freely, but once a deposit is paid they cannot drop by more than 10 percent, and a minimum spend may apply.

Do we need to hire wait staff?

Usually not. Service is casual and runs from the side of the truck, with the crew setting up, cooking, serving and packing down. Each truck and team takes just a single booking on any given date, so timings stay flexible.
