About Byron Bay Wildlife Sanctuary
Byron Bay Wildlife Sanctuary is a native wildlife park on Hinterland Way at Knockrow, run as a registered Australian charity that puts its takings back into animal care, rehabilitation and conservation. It opens to visitors every day of the week. The day is built around talks from the keepers: free-flight bird presentations, reptile talks and kangaroo and emu feeding. Between those, visitors can play the Wild Greens nine-hole mini golf course, cool off in the water splash park or explore the nature playground and farmyard. Hands-on encounters with koalas, owls and reptiles can also be booked. Birthday parties are priced by the head for groups of at least 15, with guests aged two and up each needing a ticket. The package covers all-day entry, every keeper talk, a feed bag for the farmyard and a reserved party area in the Sky Puppy Marquee, which has barbecues and overlooks the playground. The smaller Pond Marquee is another option, or the party can move indoors to the Dirrawong Conference Room with tables, seating, a TV, sound and air-conditioning. Extras include a private reptile encounter where every child can hold a snake for a photo, a 20-minute appearance from Kev the Koala mascot, café platters and ice cream for each guest. The sanctuary also hosts corporate and private events such as workshops, meetings and product launches, using indoor rooms or outdoor spaces, and its team can arrange food, drinks, styling and audiovisual set-up. Send an enquiry to ask about a date.

Frequently asked questions
How much is a birthday party at the sanctuary?
The birthday party package is $20 for each guest, with a minimum of 15 guests per booking. Children under two come in free, and everyone else attending needs a ticket under the group booking.
What does the birthday party package include?
Guests get entry for the whole day, all the keeper talks and presentations, use of the mini golf course, nature playground and water splash park, a farmyard feed bag each and a reserved party area in the Sky Puppy Marquee with barbecue facilities.
Can we bring balloons, confetti or our own drinks?
No. The grounds are strictly balloon-free to protect the animals, and the team asks guests to skip confetti, glitter and party poppers. The sanctuary is a licensed venue that is not BYO, so drinks for a party are pre-ordered as a package.
What party times are available and how far ahead should we book?
Parties run every day with start times of 10am, 11am or 12pm. Bookings are essential and need to be made at least three days ahead, and a deposit of 25% or $100, whichever is greater, holds the date.
Can the sanctuary host a corporate event or workshop?
Yes. It offers indoor and outdoor spaces for corporate and private events, including meetings, workshops and product launches, and the team can arrange catering, drinks, styling and audiovisual equipment. Send an enquiry to receive the event packages.
