About Southern Highlands Classic Wedding Cars
Southern Highlands Classic Wedding Cars is a small Moss Vale business that chauffeurs couples in vintage cars and works only within the Southern Highlands. It has driven well over 100 local weddings. Venues that list it as a preferred supplier include Milton Park, Peppers Manor House, Bendooley Estate, Peppers Craigieburn and Centennial Vineyards. The cars belong to a private collection and keep their original engines, whitewall tyres and period wheel trims. The rare Alvis TA21 drophead coupe is an open-top car with no air conditioning but plenty of fresh air. Two matching Jaguar Mark Vs each take up to four passengers with air conditioning. The larger Jaguar Mark VII seats up to five and suits longer runs around the Highlands and evening getaways, and the two-tone paintwork helps the dress stand out in photos. Packages range from a simple ceremony-and-reception transfer to longer hires that add photo locations, plus a late-night getaway for the couple. The minimum booking is two hours. Every hire includes ribbons, a red carpet, champagne and water during photos when time allows, umbrellas, a first aid kit, a sewing kit and a spray bottle for the flowers. Which cars can we choose from?
The fleet is a 1952 Alvis TA21 drophead coupe convertible, two matching 1950 Jaguar Mark Vs that seat four each, and a 1955 Jaguar Mark VII that seats five. They can be booked on their own or together for a bigger bridal party.
What is the minimum hire time?
Two hours, which usually covers the trip to the ceremony, a few photos afterwards and the drive to the reception. Longer hire can be arranged in advance for as long as you need the cars on the day.
Can children ride in the cars?
Children under seven cannot travel in these cars, because vehicles from this era lack the anchor points that NSW child restraint rules require. Older children can ride along as part of the bridal party.
How does the deposit and payment work?
A deposit of $150 per car locks in your date. The balance is due 10 days before the wedding and can be paid by cash, cheque or bank transfer, with details worked through at your consultation.
Do the cars have air conditioning?
The three Jaguars are air-conditioned. The Alvis is a convertible without air conditioning, though it gets plenty of airflow, so it suits couples who are happy to travel with the roof down.
