Birthday Party Venues in Mittagong & Northern Villages

Choosing the Right Birthday Party Venue

Locals call Mittagong Hotel the Top Pub, and its 1890 building on Main Street is where the northern Highlands gathers for a birthday. It first traded as the Exchange Hotel and keeps a bar, bistro and courtyard under a big old tree.

Ways to run a birthday at the Top Pub:

A courtyard party: The Cottage holds 110 standing or 60 at tables.
A cocktail class: The Distillery hosts groups where each guest learns to shake two drinks of their choosing.
A seated dinner among the stills: The Distillery seats 30 in the laneway space beside copper stills and barrels.
Food to suit the crowd: grazing spreads, roaming platters or three courses served at the table.
Local drinks: the bar pours Southern Highlands wines, local spirits and house cocktails, with packages arranged alongside the food.

The hotel's events team helps sort food, drinks, music and decorations, and fourteen rooms upstairs mean birthday guests can stay the night.

A milestone with a long guest list suits The Cottage, at up to 110 standing.
A smaller crew of 50 or fewer standing fits The Distillery.
A cocktail class gives a 21st or 30th something to do beyond the bar.
The Cottage and The Distillery are separate spaces, so ask which suits your date and numbers.
